Renee Kathleen Zellweger (born April 25, 1969) is an actress. She graduated from Katy High School, in Katy, TX, in 1987, where she was active in cheerleading, among other activities. Zellweger got interested in acting in college and made her major screen debut in 1994 in Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation. Her first co-starring role was in Jerry Maguire (1996), for which she received rave reviews. After several other films (including Me, Myself and Irene and Nurse Betty), she was cast as Bridget Jones in 2001. She has appeared as Jones in three movies to date, reprising the role for the third time in 2016 after a six-year hiatus from acting. Other films of note include Chicago, Cold Mountain and Miss Potter. Zellweger was given a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2005.
