Michael Lee Aday (born Marvin Lee Aday on September 27, 1947), better known as Meat Loaf, is a musician and actor. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School, in Dallas, TX, in 1965, where he played on the football team, managed the baseball team, and participated in choir. Aday’s first band was named Meat Loaf Soul (after a nickname he’d received from his football coach). While the band underwent several name changes, he kept the stage name Meat Loaf for himself. Aday has gone on to record a number of albums over the decades, with 1977’s Bat Out of Hell remaining a top-selling record. Aday has also done quite a bit of acting, having appeared in over 50 movies and TV shows thus far. His most well-known role is possibly his performance as Eddie in the 1975 cult classic The Rocky Horror Picture Show (followed decades later by a guest appearance on the series Glee, for its Rocky Horror tribute episode). Aday remains one of the most successful music artists in history in terms of albums sold.
