Joel Edward McHale (born November 20, 1971) is an actor, comedian, and TV host. He graduated from Mercer Island High School in 1991, where he played basketball and football. McHale got his show business start in Seattle, as a cast member of the local sketch comedy TV series Almost Live! After a move to Los Angeles, he started picking up other acting roles. In 2004, he began hosting the satirical E! series The Soup. From 2009 to 2015, he starred in the critically-acclaimed comedy Community. Film work has included Spider-Man 2, Ted, and Adult Beginners. McHale also starred in the series The Great Indoors (2016-2017).
