William Hall Macy, Jr. (born March 13, 1950) is an actor, screenwriter, and theater director. He graduated from Allegany High School, in Cumberland, Maryland, in 1968, where he was a member of the Thespians as well as junior class president. Macy’s big breakthrough was being cast as the lead role in Fargo, a role with which he is still most associated. He has acted in numerous films and TV shows over the years and currently stars in the series Shameless. Macy is also director-in-residence at the Atlantic Theater Company in New York. Macy and his wife, Felicity Huffman, were each awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2012.
