Coy Luther “Luke” Perry III (October 11, 1966 – March 4, 2019) was an actor. He graduated with the class of 1984 from Fredericktown High School in Fredericktown, Ohio. In high school, Perry was the yearbook club photographer and a member of DECA. He also played on the baseball team and was the vice president of both his freshman and sophomore classes.
Perry is best known for his long-time role as Dylan McKay on Beverly Hills, 90210, but his list of acting credits is long. Starring movie roles include 8 Seconds (1994), Supernova (2005), and Redemption Road (2010). He also appeared in Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1992) and The Fifth Element (1997), among other films. Television credits include Another World (1988 – 1989), The Simpsons (1993), Oz (2001 – 2002), Will & Grace (2005), and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit(2008). Most recently, and until his untimely death, Perry had a main role in the popular series Riverdale.
