Benjamin Jeremy Stein (born November 25, 1944) is a lawyer, economist, commentator, writer, and actor. He graduated from Montgomery Blair High School, in Silver Spring, MD, in 1962. Stein went on to major in economics at Columbia College and to obtain a law degree from Yale Law School. In the course of his multi-faceted career, Stein has been a lawyer, university professor, speechwriter (for Presidents Nixon and Ford), political and economic columnist, and author of numerous books. He has also been quite active in the entertainment world. He made a big impression in his first role, as the monotone economics teacher in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, and has gone on to appear in many movies and TV shows. Stein was also the co-host of the popular game show Win Ben Stein’s Money, which won five Daytime Emmy awards.
