Nick E. Hysong (born December 9, 1971) is a former professional athlete and Olympic gold medal winner. He attended Tolleson Union High School in Tolleson, Arizona. In high school, Hysong was a member of the student council and elected Prince of the Homecoming dance. Hysong also was in the marching band, played on the football team, and was a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He is best known for capturing the gold medal in the 2000 Olympic games in Sydney, Australia in the pole vault. Hysong later opened an athletic training facility in his home state of Arizona.
