Martin Charles Scorsese (born November 17, 1942) is an American director, producer, screenwriter, and actor. He graduated with the class of 1960 from Cardinal Hayes High School in the Bronx, New York. In high school, he was part of the Italian Club, Business Club, Poster Club, and Student Council. In addition, his favorite sport and subject were swimming and English. Scorsese, with a career that spans more than 45 years, burst into the scene with his 1967 short film The Big Shave. Soon after, Scorsese produced a wide range of hit films such as; Taxi Driver, The king of Comedy, Goodfellas, Cape Fear, Gangs of New York, The Aviator, The Departed, and The Wolf of Wall Street.
