Sean Justin Penn (born August 17, 1960) is an actor and director. He graduated with the 1978 class from Santa Monica High School in Santa Monica, California. In high school, Penn was on the varsity tennis team. Penn’s first film role as an adult was in the action movie Taps. He has since given several Academy & Golden Globe Award nominated performances in movies like Dead Man Walking, Sweet and Lowdown, and Milk.
