Robin Simone Givens (born November 27, 1964) is an American actress. She graduated with the class of 1980, at the age of 15, from New Rochelle Academy, New York. In high school, she was part of the volleyball team and yearbook club. Givens stated in her senior yearbook that her ambition was “to cure the common cold,” and she planned to study pre-med after college. Instead, an interest in acting pulled her in a different direction.
In 1985, Givens burst onto the scene with her first appearance in an episode of The Cosby Show. Among other acting credits, she was one of the main cast members in Head of the Class (1986 – 1991) and in Sparks (1996 – 1998). Film credits include prominent roles in Boomerang (1992) and Head of State (2003). Givens also has a recurring role in Riverdale (2017 – present).
