Linda Lavin (born October 15, 1937) is an American singer and actress. She graduated with the class of 1955 from Deering High School in Portland, Maine. In high school, she was a member of the tennis and bowling teams, and in the glee and dramatic Clubs. After high school, she planned to attend college and to be successful and happy. She was known for having ‘loads of talent and personality — one girl who possess many assets’. Lavin lit up the Broadway stage and starred on the hit sitcom Alice which aired in the late ’70s to mid ’80s.
