Arnold Daniel Palmer (September 10, 1929 – September 25, 2016) was a retired American professional golfer. He attended Latrobe High School in Latrobe, Pennsylvania. In high school, he was the state champion of his golf squad. He served in Student Service, was a reporter for the High Post, and appeared in Merchant of Venice. He is considered to have been one of the best professional golfers in history — even being nicknamed “The King.”
