Bradley Charles Cooper (born January 5, 1975) is an actor and producer. He is a 1993 graduate of Germantown Academy, in Fort Washington, PA. While at Germantown, he was a member of the tennis team and participated in Latin Club and Business Club, among other activities.
Cooper’s professional acting career began in 1999 with a guest role on Sex and the City. His film debut in Wet Hot American Summer followed two years later, and his role in Alias (2001-2006) brought recognition among a wider audience.
Cooper’s fame skyrocketed when he was cast as Phil in 2009’s The Hangover (a role he also portrayed in the film’s two sequels), and he began gaining more exposure. He was named People magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive in 2011 and topped the Forbes Celebrity 100 list in 2013.
Cooper’s talent has led to a wide range of acting projects, with notable films including Limitless(2011), The Place Beyond the Pines (2012), Silver Linings Playbook (2012), American Hustle (2013), and American Sniper (2014). His small-screen work includes Touching Evil, Nip/Tuck, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, and Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp.
Cooper is only the tenth actor in Hollywood history to have received Oscar nominations three years in a row. He also received a Tony nomination for his starring role in the 2014 Broadway production of The Elephant Man. Cooper’s 2018 directorial debut – a remake of A Star is Born (in which he also co-stars) – has gotten great reviews.
