Kimberly Alexis Bledel (born September 16, 1981), known professionally as Alexis Bledel, is an actress and model. She graduated from St. Agnes Academy, in Houston, TX, in 1999, where she participated in Key Club. Bledel began modeling while still in high school and was encouraged by her mother to try acting in order to overcome her shyness. In 2000, she landed the role of Rory Gilmore in the series Gilmore Girls, which ran until 2007. Bledel also co-starred in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants (2005) and its 2008 sequel. Other projects have included the films Tuck Everlasting and Sin City and the series Mad Men. In 2016, it was announced that Netflix would release four new Gilmore Girls films.
