Anthony Charles Edwards (born July 19, 1962) is an actor. He graduated from San Marcos High School, in Santa Barbara, CA, in 1980, where he was active in drama. His first appearance in a major film was a minor role in Fast Times at Ridgemont High. A couple of years later, he scored a starring role in the 1984 film Revenge of the Nerds (a character he returned to in the 1987 sequel). His fame was cemented when he was cast as Tom Cruise’s best buddy, Goose, in Top Gun. Edwards is perhaps best known, however, for his portrayal of Dr. Mark Greene in the series ER from 1994 to 2002. Other work includes the film Zodiac and a 10-episode guest role on Northern Exposure.
