William Gaither “Billy” Crudup (born July 8, 1968) is an actor. He graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas High School, in Fort Lauderdale, FL, in 1986. A stage actor since college, Crudup’s first big-screen appearances were in Sleepers and Everyone Says I Love You, both released in 1996. Films for which he is best known include Big Fish, Spotlight, Without Limits (portraying Steve Prefontaine), Almost Famous (portraying Stillwater guitarist Russell Hammond), Watchmen(portraying Doctor Manhattan), and Public Enemies (portraying J. Edgar Hoover). Crudup was also the voice of MasterCard’s “Priceless” commercials from 1998 to 2005.
