David Michael Letterman (born April 12, 1947) is an American television host, comedian and writer. He graduated with the class of 1965 from Broad Ripple High School in Indianapolis, Indiana. In high school, he played on the basketball and track teams, was part of Ripples, musical and band. He is best known for hosting the Late Night with David Letterman (1982-1993) and the Late Show with David Letterman (2009-2015).
