Who is Gwen Stefani?

Who doesn’t remember jamming out to ‘Hollaback Girl’ in 2004-05? And for the ska lovers, her iconic singing for her band No Doubt can take you right back to concerts and jamming out on the beach in the ‘90s.

Gwen Stefani is a global superstar who found stardom as lead singer for ska band No Doubt in the 1980s, 90s, and 2000s before branching out and having a Billboard-chart topping career of her own in 2004.

More recently, Gwen has remained in the public eye, as a TV-staple on NBC’s The Voice as a recurring judge, a tabloid regular thanks to her marriage to country singer Blake Shelton, and a musician that’s released music as recently as 2025.

Gwen Stefani: Now vs. Then

Gwen has always stunned with her gorgeous looks and iconic fashion style. From the ‘80s and ‘90s to today, here’s how Gwen looked from her teenage years all the way to today.

Gwen Stefani Then & Now

Where Did Gwen Stefani Go to School?

High School Education

Before she was touring the globe and coaching future stars on The Voice, a young Gwen Stefani spent her teenage years in Anaheim, California, attending Loara High School from 1984 to 1987 where she was a member of the swim team.

College Education

Gwen Stefani continued her education in college for a few years before dropping out to pursue her career with No Doubt. She attended Fullerton College in Fullerton, CA, and Cypress College in Cypress, CA before transferring to California State Fullerton.

Who is Gwen Stefani’s Family?

Marriage to Blake Shelton

Any fan of celebrity gossip has kept up with Gwen Stefani and her husband Blake Shelton over the years, especially with recent rumors about a rocky relationship. That being said, the couple has denied the rumors, indicating that, “The truth is I am in love with my best friend, and all this s**t I’m thinking of in my brain, that’s all it is — I’m overthinking.”

The two met on the set of the Voice in 2014, got together shortly thereafter after both going through public divorces around the same time, and got married in 2021.

3 Wonderful Sons

Gwen Stefani has to balance her music and TV career with raising three children, Kingston, Zuma, and Apollo, mentioning that juggling both is, “incredible but really hard…I don’t take it lightly and I’m so grateful that I have them, and I got to have three boys.”

The father of Gwen’s 3 children is her ex-husband Gavin Rossdale, the British singer from the band Bush.

A Musical Older Brother & Two Younger Siblings

Gwen Stefani’s older brother Eric was the keyboardist of No Doubt before deciding to step away and become an animator that eventually worked on the Simpsons. Wow, this family truly gifted us with classic pop culture staples across the board!

She also has two younger siblings, Jill & Todd Stefani.

Inspiring Parents

Gwen’s dad is Dennis Stefani,  who was a marketing executive at Yamaha. Her mom Patti was an accountant before eventually becoming a stay-at-home mom. Gwen attributes her parents’ love of folk music and artists like Bob Dylan as some of her early exposure to the music world.

After joining the show in 2014, Gwen Stefani quickly became one of the most beloved coaches on The Voice, with her iconic blend of warmth, humor, and sharp instincts (and obvious musical talent!)

She brought her signature style and genuine connection with contestants, especially younger artists chasing their first big break, as one of the original pop icons to join the show.

Of course, her instant chemistry with Blake Shelton on screen that led to her eventual marriage to the country star made for great TV that fans adored. And her playful rivalries with other coaches became a defining part of the show’s charm to this day.
