Jeffrey Michael Tambor (born July 8, 1944) is an actor. He graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School, in San Francisco, CA, in 1961. Tambor got his start in live theater in the 1970s. He began landing guest roles on a variety of television programs (including Kojak and Taxi) in that same decade and was soon well on his way to developing an impressive list of credits for both small- and big-screen work. Tambor is probably best known for his portrayals of Hank Kingsley from The Larry Sanders Show (1992-1998) and George Bluth, Sr./Oscar Bluth from Arrested Development (2003-2006, 2013). Film work includes Mr. MomThere’s Something About MaryMeet Joe Black, and The Accountant. He has also done extensive voice work, with projects including the films Monsters vs. Aliens and Tangled and the series Archer and Bob’s Burgers. Tambor currently stars in the Amazon series Transparent.
