Joey Lauren Adams (born January 9, 1968) is an actress and director. She attended Northeast High School in North Little Rock, Arkansas. Her career began in 1977 with a small role in Exorcist II: The Heretic. She is best known for her part in the film Chasing Amy. She has also appeared in Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, and A Cool, Dry Place. In 2006, Adams made her directorial debut with Come Early Morning, which starred Ashley Judd, Diane Ladd, and Tim Blake Nelson.
