Julia Scarlett Elizabeth Louis-Dreyfus (born January 13, 1961) is an actress, comedian, and producer. She graduated from Holton-Arms School, in Bethesda, MD, in 1979, where she was active in drama and was also president of both her freshman and junior classes. Louis-Dreyfus started out in comedy and first gained national recognition as a cast member of Saturday Night Live in 1982. She is probably best known for her performance as Elaine Benes on the popular and critically-acclaimed series Seinfeld. Following this career-changing experience, Louis-Dreyfus went on to star in the series The New Adventures of Old Christine and Veep. Among numerous other acting projects, she has appeared in the films National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation and Deconstructing Harry and has had guest appearances on Curb Your EnthusiasmThe Simpsons, and 30 Rock. Louis-Dreyfus has received many nominations and awards for her work and was given a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2010.
