Miranda Leigh Lambert (born November 10, 1983) is a country music singer-songwriter. She attended Lindale High School, in Lindale, TX, where she participated in cheerleading and Future Homemakers of America. Even as a high school student, Lambert was already making moves toward a career in music. She sang with a couple of different local bands and appeared in the same talent show (the Johnnie High Country Music Revue) that had given LeAnn Rimes her start. In 2003, Lambert won a spot on the reality show Nashville Star, finishing in third place. That same year, she signed with Epic Records. Her 2004 debut album, Kerosene (for which she wrote all but one of the songs), entered Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart at number one. In addition to maintaining a very successful solo career, Lambert is a member of the country music trio Pistol Annies, which released its debut album in 2011.
