Nancy Ann Kerrigan (born October 13, 1969) is an American former professional figure skater and Olympic athlete. She graduated with the class of 1987 from Stoneham High School in Stoneham, Massachusetts. She is best known as an Olympic competitor; she won bronze in the 1992 Winter Olympic Games, then in 1994 taking home a silver medal after a hugely publicized attack by (skating competitor) Tonya Harding‘s ex-husband and a co-conspirator.
Kerrigan is a national spokesperson for the non-profit organization Fight for Sight which provides funding for research in eye and vision. She is quoted in her senior yearbook saying, “How high I aim. How much I see. How far I reach. Depends on me.”
