Natalie Portman (born Neta-Lee Hershlag; June 9, 1981) is an actress, producer, and director. She attended Syosset High School in Syosset, New York. In high school, Portman was on the winter track team as well as in her school’s Japanese Club. She is best known for her starring performances in popular movies like the Star Wars prequel trilogy which brought her mainstream success, along with V for Vendetta, Black Swan, and Thor and its sequel. Portman is also an advocate for animal rights, and antipoverty.
