Robert “Rob” Allen Riggle Jr. (born April 21, 1970) is an actor and comedian. He is a 1988 graduate of Shawnee Mission South High School (in Overland Park, KS), where he participated in football and was a member of the KSMS radio/television staff.

After college, Riggle joined the Marines with the intention of becoming a Naval Aviator. But he developed an interest in comedy and decided to switch career tracks (although he did remain in the Marine Corps Reserve until 2013, reaching the rank of lieutenant colonel).

Riggle is probably best known for his appearances on Comedy Central’s The Daily Show, in which he was a regular correspondent from 2006 to 2008. However, he has quite a long list of credits in the world of comedy entertainment. He started out as a member of the cast of the Upright Citizens Brigade, from 1998 to 2000. A few years later, he spent a season as a featured player on Saturday Night Live before finding his way to The Daily Show.

Movie work includes roles in Step Brothers (2008), The Hangover (2009), 21 Jump Street (2012) and its 2014 sequel, and Midnight Sun (2018). On the small screen, Riggle also appeared in a series of sketches in HBO’s Funny or Die Presents (2010-2011) and co-starred in the Adult Swim series NTSF:SD:SUV::. He has also had guest appearances in The Office, Arrested Development,30 Rock, Modern Family, and Key and Peele. And sharp-eyed viewers could have seen Riggle in a series of KFC commercials in 2016; he was one of a series of celebrities to portray Colonel Sanders.
