Elizabeth Stamatina “Tina” Fey (born May 18, 1970) is an actress, comedian, writer, and producer. She graduated from Upper Darby High School, in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania, in 1988, where she was active in drama and tennis and was co-editor of the school newspaper. Fey was hired as a writer on Saturday Night Live in 1997 and became its first female head writer two years later. While on the show, she also became extremely popular for both her spot-on impression of Sarah Palin and her long-running stint as co-anchor of “Weekend Update.” She left in 2006 to create and star in 30 Rock, a critically acclaimed comedy series that roughly paralleled her own experiences at SNL. She is also responsible for creating and producing the series Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. Fey also wrote and co-starred in Mean Girls, a teen comedy with characters based partly on her own experiences at Upper Darby High School. Among her other achievements: co-starring roles in Baby Mama and Date Night and her best-selling autobiography, Bossypants.
