Henry Warren Beatty (born March 30, 1937) is an actor and filmmaker. He graduated from Washington-Lee High School, in Arlington, VA, in 1955, where he was a member of the football team and was voted Best All Around as a senior. Beatty got interested in acting during high school, seeing his older sister (Shirley MacLaine) have success, and spent the summer before his senior year working as a stagehand. His first appearances were in television shows, and he had a semi-regular role on The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis in its first season. His big-screen debut was the starring role in Splendor in the Grass (1961). A diverse talent, Beatty has had success as an actor, director, producer, and screenwriter. Some of his biggest films include Bonnie and Clyde(1967), Shampoo (1975), Heaven Can Wait (1978), Reds (1981), and Bulworth (1998). His latest project is the film Rules Don’t Apply (2016), for which he acted, wrote, directed, and produced.
